Artemis is not ignoring the bloodstains.

"Any of that yours?"

It might not be as polite as 'hi, how are you?' but while Artemis has learned some social graces over the years, she also still believes in cutting to the chase.

And a poor night's sleep is enough to make anyone forget their manners.

Gavroche, on the other hand, looks to be in need of several square meals and possibly something with lots of sugar, to judge by the circles under his eyes.

He's up and walking, though, and the cuts on his palms - one on each hand - have scabbed over.

The blood might not all be his - the ends of his sleeves are soaked in it, where he didn't think to push them back before the healing.

He looks round quickly at the sound of the snakes' "words" and then hers, as a milkshake appears in front of him.

"What?"
