Having Gibbs on board has been good for Elizabeth. She trusts him as much as she can trust any pirate; seeing his familiar face as they set sail, and as she proudly showed him the Empress, very nearly made her cheerful ( Read more... )

It could be that Elizabeth wasn't paying attention when she sat down, and didn't see the man sitting there.

It could be that he wasn't sitting there when she sat down.

Either way, he's there now.

Oh yeah -- he has several small people with him, as well.

"Afternoon, Lizzy."

To her credit, Elizabeth doesn't shriek or otherwise show outward surprise, other than to raise an eyebrow and open her mouth as if she has several choice words to say but can't decide which would be most appropriate.

"Adam."

She blinks at the children, then the Antichrist.

"Your wife was delivered of her litter, I presume?"

"Our children, you mean? She certainly didn't have puppies."

"No, I suppose they aren't very canine in appearance."

They are quite cute, actually, not that she's prepared to admit as much.

"I wasn't sure you still came here."

Not long after Captain Turner has made her way to that table, Gibbs comes through the same door. He smiles. It's not the broadest smile in creation, being that he still has little love for the magic in the Bar. But after so many months of drinking here, he's gotten us to the place.

"Captain," he reports, "everything is ship-shape. So if you don't object, I'll be taking a bit of a break?" This is as close as he'll come to asking the captain's permission. Pirates don't ask permission much.

Elizabeth gives a regal sort of nod.

"I don't object," she tells him. "I plan on doing the same myself.

"Thank you, Mr. Gibbs."

Pirates don't say thank you much, either, but sometimes the words serve their purpose.

The pirate goes to get a drink (naturally) and then comes back.

"Now that we're off the ship, Captain, there is one matter of concern i wish to address, out of earshot of the crew."

"Certainly," she replies, stealing a glance at the door. Every now and then, she likes to make sure it's still there. "I'm glad we are afforded the opportunity."

She offers the plate to him. Pineapple goes well with rum.

Here is something that Sally hasn't seen yet; a woman in what might be seventeenth or eighteenth century male clothing. Curiosity gets the better of her, and the Londoner pulls out her camera to take a few shots.

Couldn't harm the portfolio she's trying to make, right?

Though the snapping sound is faint, Elizabeth instinctively drops a hand to her pistol and turns a cool, challenging look on the stranger.

"I trust that is not a weapon," she says. "I've yet to feel a sting."

"Camera," she starts, lowering it and taking a step back. "Sorry. I'm going to guess you've not seen one of these before?" Sally holds the digital camera back up.

"You take pictures with it. People, animals, plants, objects."

"I haven't," Elizabeth confirms, puzzling this through. Wariness is soon replaced with curiosity. "Pictures?

"It must be magic."

The logical conclusion, here.

There's a smile on Toki's face, he'd noticed a peculiar overabundance of people singing and dancing today and most of last night. Not that he knew he had anything to do with it.

He did, however, notice the lady as he walked past with his guitar in hand, on his way over to the Observation Window. And may have tried to sneak a slice of fruit in the process.

Hey, if it wasn't being guarded very well, it was up for grabs!

He manages to grab a piece of papaya.

"You know," Elizabeth drawls, "in some parts of the world I could have stabbed your hand for that."

But not here. She has no wish to end up in the cells.

Toki popped the papaya in his mouth and looked utterly innocent, "Hm?"

After finishing it off, he smiled, "Dat's is what Murderface tries to does when I steals his foods. But I gots fast hands."

Beat.
"I could pays you back, though."

"Murdererface?"

Elizabeth continues to watch the man closely.

"That would be an intriguing name for a pirate." A hand wave. "It's just a piece of papaya."

She really is in a good mood.

She gets a wolf whistle from the blue creature sitting a few tables away. True he's not aware of all the connotations a wolf whistle has and he's not attracted to human females but it generally garners an amusing reaction.

To her knowledge, Elizabeth has never had someone whistle at her. Other sorts of insinuations, yes, but never an outright whistle. Narrowing her eyes, she locates the source of the whistle and... blinks.

"I half expected to see Cotton's parrot."

What is that.

"Yakapitbine iddibidibah!"

That? Would be a highly entertianed experiment. It casually rests an elbow on the top of its own table and gives her a once over. Followed by a very broad and toothy grin.

"heh-Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!" Grin.

Huh.

It's oddly cute, in a strange, very blue sort of way.

Elizabeth's brow wrinkles in a frown, and she straightens out of habit rather than concern.

"Hello." That grin is unnerving. "My, how very many teeth you have."

Perhaps that would serve as a compliment wherever the creature is from.
