After having talked with Malcolm the Easy Company medic was feeling better. He knew his place, his purpose now. Most importantly he had hope. Somewhere along the line of the War he had lost it and in the process nearly lost himself. It wasn't something that he easily could have admited without his help and Gene would forever be in the man's debt
