The agenda changes when he sees her again. The gun doesn't bother him all that much: he's seen plenty of people carrying guns before, and habitually carries at least one himself - specifically, the Beretta on his hip.
He walks over to the woman, making sure that she can see him coming. "Evening, ma'am," he says. "You're looking a lot better. Granted, that's not too hard to do."
