Earlier today, Susannah visited the infirmary, and reclaimed a piece of her property. Left an IOU.

Now, in pinned-under blue jeans and a COLUMBIA sweatshirt, riding in a flying wheelchair sans wheels, Susannah Dean is in the bar. She looks a lot better than she did yesterday; a strong and beautiful black woman (sans legs), old enough to be someone ( Read more... )

Will is watching out for some people and the wheelchair makes him first look for Barbara, when he sees Susannah, he gives a small nod,

"God's greetin's o'the season to ye, milady."

He's noticed the gun, its rather hard not to notice and looks for a moment towards his door,

"I 'ope yer troubles 'ave given ye a moment o'peace, milady. Forgive me manners, I'm Will Scarlett."

"I'm Susannah Toren," she says. Her troubles pass without mention. "Hile and merry-meet, Mister Scarlett."

She sounds half-amused, like a traveller breaking out his long-dormant Spanish on vacation.

J.C. wasn't sure he wanted to be down in the bar on Christmas Eve - he'd just be reminded of what he was missing back home - but even he has to eat some time. So down the stairs he goes, intending to get a light supper and get out.

The agenda changes when he sees her again. The gun doesn't bother him all that much: he's seen plenty of people carrying guns before, and habitually carries at least one himself - specifically, the Beretta on his hip.

He walks over to the woman, making sure that she can see him coming. "Evening, ma'am," he says. "You're looking a lot better. Granted, that's not too hard to do."

"You sure know how to flatter a lady," she says, dryly.

"It's just that in my experience, ma'am, just about everyone looks better without a bullet hole in them," he says.

"Really truly?" she drawls. "I've known some sumbitches whose looks were most improved by a few."
