There is an interesting sight in a clear space in a corner by the bar door. Duo and Filif are there, with a tangle of Christmas lights and several boxes of ornaments. The tree is carefully sorting through increasingly gaudily colored stars and icicles and balls, while Duo stands on a stool and tries to affix a star to the top of Filif's baseball

Will has medieval food that he's introducing patrons to and smiles at the tree and lights and Duo offering some wassail and frumenty,

"Ne'er seen a tree bein' decorated inside 'fore, usually just decorate one in the forest in me time."

"Duo is letting me have fun with Christmas!" Filif informs the man brightly. "I have never done this before at all."

"Thanks, man." Duo snags a glass and grins. "Join in if you want. I figured it's a little too cold out there tonight."

"Wassail will keep ye warm." Then Will blinks at Filif,

"Pleasure to meet ye, ne'er met a tree who could speak 'fore though wonder sometimes in Sherwood."

"Do you need any help?" Filif asks, brightly. "I very much enjoy this octopus one."

The octopus in question is bright orange with purple polka dots.

"Feel free," Duo says, biting his lip in concentration as he balances precariously. "I altered 'em a bit so they clip on instead of just hang- that way you can still move around if you want."

Filif precariously clips it to one of his branches with the judicious use of a few wizardies.

"It is very entertaining," he agrees, "do try not to fall?"

"Pffft, I'm totally fine up here." He scrambles for a hold on one of the rafters as he says this, but both he and the star finally remain upright.

"There! No tree had a better one, I tell ya. Now I just need to get the lights..."

X has met Filif. She can smell him.

So X's confused expression is because she is not sure why Duo is decorating a sentient tree.

She'll speak in a moment.

Probably.

Because he likes it, of course! Duo has it on good authority that this is making Filif's month.

"Hey, kiddo! Grab an ornament. How about that one?" The one he points out is a particularly eye-smarting shade of magenta, with green stripes.

"Hello, X!" Filif says, cheerfully. "Have you been having a good pre-Christmas?"

He is currently inspecting some silver stars decorated all over with panda bears.

X looks a little lost.

"I do not know."

Beat.

"Why are you hanging things on him? He is not really a tree."

The determined clicking of high-heeled (and bright pink) boots heralds Carmela's arrival.

That guy with the braid to rival hers had better not be macking on her tree.

"Filif? Dai! Who's your friend?"

"Dai, Carmela! This is Duo, he is Nita's friend also!" Filif tells her, cheerfully. "He is decorating me for Christmas!"

"Yo," Duo says from somewhere behind some branches. He's braving the lights. He waves, and then disentangles his braid from the wire.

Duo is receiving an extremely critical look.

"Hola."

Osaka's never seen a tree decorating itself before. She walks over to have a closer look.

Duo is just scrambling down from the stool, and is now cheerfully tangling himself in the lights. Doesn't matter how far in the future you are from, Christmas lights are always tangled.

"Grab an ornament! That whole side there doesn't have any yet."

"Dai'stiho!" Filif says, rustling brightly. "I have a lot of decorations over here! They are all very interesting."

And garish. Can't forget garish.

"Alright, I will!" Osaka picks up a pearly white ball with gold stripes. "Where would you like me to put it, Tree-san?"
