"Good heavens."

Darren looks at the dog with distaste.

"I wish I could say it wasn't mine," he retorts dully, not taking his eyes from the page and ignoring the fact that his hand is being attacked by teeth.

"How and why?"

Darren flops into a chair nearby.

The sound of nearby occupants has the puppy perking up and peering over to Darren, ceasing in it's gnawing for a moment.

"Blame Cheevy. He made me do it."

A very amused Villiers stands not too far away, having stopped and just stared at the two for a while.

Huh. Life gets stranger and stranger every day.

He's trying hard not to laugh. No, really. He is.

Le Chiffre's too engrossed in his book at first.

It's only after the puppy spots they're being watched and proceeds to squirm and give a whiny sounding bark that Chiffre peers up, catching the look from Villiers and rolling his eyes heavily.

Really, there's nothing he can say to excuse this.

It's not his fault he smiles, just a small smile that's half smirk, half amused. He walks forwards as he's noticed, kneeling to focus on the puppy instead of the human in an attempt to maintain composure. And hand is offered to the great dane, as well as a redirected smile.

"So," Villiers says lightly, "the great banker of the world's terrorists gets a puppy."

While Le Chiffre looks mostly unimpressed, his puppy is anything but. It wastes no time in sniffing curiously at the offered hand, licking fingers and nudging against it, long tail thumping back and forth against the couch.

"I'm just looking after it for someone.. for an indefinite amount of time."
