Miniver is sitting close by, laughing at her. He's got his working clothes on (read: emo black jeans with emo black shirt -- hey he works backstage!) and a glass of whiskey in his hand.

Kate is getting watched by someone else too.

And he appears to be mildly amused by it all as he joins Miniver.

"That thing has some serious problems." And by 'thing' he means the puppy.

"She's just a baby!" Miniver huffs, but he seems happy to see Chiff. "Hey. Actually it's good you're here. So, I had this idea, right? Wanna go to LA?"

"Possibly. Maybe not. Do I have to?" He doesn't sound massively eager, but the offer of going out of Bar is always vaguely appealing.

The puppy toy gets nudged with a foot just to watch the spazzy pup freak out some more.

Kate leaps around and pounces and scrambles. It's adorable.

"Yeah, you do," Miniver decides. "There's something I wanna show you."

Yes. 'Around' that mythical land where people are when nobody's seen them for a while.

In any case, Miniver and spazzy!Puppy were enough to get her attention, wherever it was she'd been, "Does she bite?" This was a very important question.

Ohgodchildren. Miniver tends to be a bit guarded around children he doesn't know, at first.

Like the way he is with dogs!

But not Kate. "Naw. Not really. She sometimes playbites me, but she knows not to do it hard." Pause. "Hi." He smiles shyly at her.

She grinned then, flopping herself down on her stomach on the floor, bringing herself face-to-face with the dog, addressing her in the requisite baby-talk: "Whoooo's just the cutest lilpuppy ever? Hmm?"

She liked being 8, she didn't have to worry about being dignified when she was 8.

She smiled up at Miniver once more, "Black doesn't suit you, just so you know."

The puppy lickes her face delightedly, apparently taking imediate liking to the girl.

Miniver... seems confused. "Doesn't it? I have to dress like this for work, see, though..."
