"Milliways," Mal offers cooly. "Bar at the end o' the 'verse. You new, I'm assuming. What's your name and what's your drink? First one's on the house."

On the one hand, a bar's just appeared where his rack is supposed to be.

On the other hand --

He shot down his first Cylon in combat, Jaycie's in sick bay with half her face burned off, he's got reason to think that the Cylons are doing something that redefines atrocity and nobody seems to be interested in following up on it -- and he's off duty.

War's over.

He takes a stool. "Lieutenant junior grade William Adama." Pause. "What've you got on draft?"

"What year are you from, 'fore I start getting into the hows and whens of things around here?"

She shakes her head.

"A month or so ago. Though I guess our months are a bit different from yours."

"Close enough for me -- what would you like to have?"

"...does it count if your birthday used to be in November?"

"I suppose. Got any proof?"

Mal's grinning. He hasn't asked for proof hardly at all since he started his shift.
