Thanksgiving had been... interesting. But in a mostly good way, until Lilly discovered her cable wasn't working. This happened occasionally, reception being a little extra tricky post-end of universe and all.

Unfortunately, this time it had happened right before a three-day marathon of Tentacles of Our Waves and Lilly was so not about to miss

Teja passes the booth where somebody - a wench - no, a virtuous virgin, most likely - was visibly bedding down.

"They do have rooms here," he explains in passing. "And they give them to any comer, on trust and credit."

He had needed explaining from Will Scarlett as well.

Lilly, the most virtuous virgin of all, blinked up at him.

"Uh, yeah. But when said rooms have their cable go out, well. A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do."

"Cable?"

Lilly eyes him.

"You're not from a twentieth or twenty-first century earth, are you?"

Mirai is passing by, reading something, when he hears.... wait. He looks up!

"OH! I love this show!" He pauses and bows to Lilly.

"May I sit and watch for a little bit?"

Lilly beams.

"Dude, totally. Not enough people appreciate the sheer genius of squids emoting. And eight-sided love polygons. Grab a pillow!"

"I used to watch this in the Garrison Dorms during relaxation period," he says, sitting down, taking off shoes, and then getting a pillow.

"Oh! I am Mirai Hibino. Thank you for allow me to watch!"

"Really?"

Lilly blinks at him.

"Your universe must be pretty cool then, I've only ever found this show here. I think Milliways picks up the cable transmission straight from wherever the alien squid actors actually live. Weird. Anyway, I'm Lilly. Nice to meet you, Mirai, and you're totally welcome. Watching Waves is way more fun with two."

Marc's expression clearly reads 'WTF', but he's much too cultured to say that.

"What... is that."

He's pointing at the screen and looking kind of like he'd like whatever it is he's watching to quickly pack up excuse itself for being a soap.

"The best soap opera ever to take place almost entirely under the sea," Lilly replies.

The 'duh' is implied.

"Please don't tell me you've never heard of Tentacles of Our Waves?"

"Never ever ever."

And he sounds pretty proud of it.

Lilly sighs.

"You are so missing out, my friend. This thing kicks Passions' ass."

'Lo, Lilly! Have a Mia, just back from a business trip!

Which means that she's tired, a little scraped looking, and in need of some R and R.

She has a bag on one shoulder and a cloak over the opposite arm as she walks up, drawn by the comfy looking setting.

A glance to the television, and Mia asks, "Excuse me, but what is this?"

"Tentacles of Our Waves" Lilly says happily.

"They're doing a marathon. I get three days of passionately and occasionally literally entangled squid."

From her tone, this is clearly a good thing.

From the way Mia's smiling, she agrees.

"I've never seen a movie that long before," she replies, still somewhat unaware of the joys of soap operas.

"And it's about squids?" she asks to confirm, clearly happy about the idea herself.

Squids, after all, are as cute to Mia as gorgons are.

After a pause for the answer, she finally asks, "Is there room for me?"

"Alien squid people," Lilly confirms. "I think they're mostly like Earth squid, only sentient and evolved and stuff. I mean, they've got soap opera, so clearly there's an impressive civilization there."

She scoots over a bit.

"Have a seat, there's plenty of room. I could use some help with these snacks, too."

Jack pauses on his way to get something hot to eat.

"That's a very small movie screen," he remarks.

"Well, yeah. But luckily, it's a pretty decent-sized TV screen."

Lilly sighs happily.

"And it's playing my favorite show."

Jack looks around. "Where's the projector?"

Lilly eyes him.

"Mind if I ask what year you're from? I'm Lilly, DeadNeptuneCaliforniaEarth2005, and I'm guessing you're maybe not quite into the 2000's yet."
