"It's more interesting if you've got someone to throw a moving target for you." J.C. came up quietly - he always does, as a matter of habit - but Havelock almost certainly noticed him anyway.

"He is currently watching the children," Havelock says, concientiously lowering the knife before turning around.

"Well, I could," J.C. says, picking up a stick off the ground. "If you're willing to trade off after a while." Unlike Havelock, he doesn't have anyone to throw stuff for him.

Havelock considers.

He doesn't usually trust stragers to throw sharp things at him, but training with someone who occasionally forgets that he can be blurringly fast to human eyes has helped his reflexes a lot.

"Why not?" he says instead. "Thnak you."

Mai's approach is almost silent, but only almost. She pauses some distance away in order to observe Havelock's technique. Hmm... not bad.

It's... unorthodox, to say the least. He's had to teach himself to apply the skill in combat situations, and it kind of shows, at times.

He is nailing the targets pretty neatly, though.

After throwing his last knife, he looks back and nods before heading over to pull them out of various treetrunks again.

Now that he's no longer throwing, Mai approaches, curious to examine the construction of his blades.

Havelock is sheathing some of them - in both standard and unusual places, but offers her one - handle first - on seeing her interest, so she can take a closer look.

Saying 'hello' is clearly a waste of breath.
