If Veronica could hear narration, there would be tasering. Wench indeed.
"Yup! All made up by someone somewhere in some state of inebriation, all accompanied by your Veronica Mars Bartending Guarantee, i.e. if you don't like it you can buy another drink. Can I get you something?"
All the tavern keepers in this place seem to be possessed of remarkable wit; even the wenches.

"I do not trust the inventiveness of inebriation. Please get me a cup of simple dry red wine, well watered down - half wine, half water."
"Maybe not the best guarantee, but it's one you can stand behind," she says while gravely pirouetting the vodka back down the bar, where she puts it away. "You can always buy another drink as long as we have liquor to serve. Solid promise.
Veronica's equally surprised at first. "Hey, B..."
Confused, she points over her shoulder. "You mean out of the cells? Yeah, a while ago. I went home though, didn't stick around much longer. I've been in and out of here since, but mainly just to grab coffee, quick stops like that. I don't know how long it's been for you..."
The last time he made it to the Bar, Quinn got temporarily youthened, shaved, and cleaned up for Halloween. The beard and the years came back the next day, but the clean stayed, which was nice. Quinn hasn't really been trying to get to Milliways since, out of a mild worry that the Bar might grab him on yet another holiday and do something stranger, but today it appeared when he went to check on the rabbit hutches. So-
"I could do with any one of those, really. It's been a while."
Quinn beams and returns the embrace. "Better than I would've thought, all things considered," he says. "There's been a lot going on in my world. How about yourself, eh?"

She gives a weak nod.
"Well. How've you been? What've you been up to?" And, since she is getting paid for her time, "Can I grab you a drink?"

Veronica lunges across the bar to grab him in a hug, beaming.
