One Ed Elric, entering the bar. It's not Halloween in his world More like the beginning of May, so he's pretty confused at all the festivities for it in the bar itself.

He's about to be a hell of a lot more confused, because he hasn't escaped the fate of being dressed up for Halloween against his will. Instead of what he had been wearing, he finds ( Read more... )

It looks like Russell has also joined in the festivities against his will. He hasn't spotted Ed yet, mostly because he's too busy scowling and fiddling with his tie.

A tie goes with a suit of all things.

It also appears that his notebook has turned into another kind of notebook, one with funny little buttons with letters all over it.

This is NOT HELPFUL.

Ed had been fiddling with the eyepatch, sort of trying to yank it off without catching it on his hair, but he gets distracted from this process when he spots Russ. In... a suit. With... a tie.

Now, Ed's never really been one for suits when he's had to wear them, and he's never really seen the point of them on anyone else, either. Why dress up to prove your point, when you can just prove it with the words you're saying? But apparently it's different when you're seeing someone you think is hot in a suit, because - because suddenly he very much sees the point of suits.

He slouches down a little in his booth seat, his cheeks flushing, and tries to decide whether to call over to Russ or IGNORE HIM ENTIRELLY. He doesn't want to get teased about any of this!

Russell is tugging at his tie now, trying to make it NOT CHOKE HIM and has no idea that anyone is hiding from him.

He puts his notebook down on a table close to where Ed is so he can tug on his tie with both hands this time.

He also happens to spot the blond hair. He catches Ed's eye and his hands still.

He hasn't noticed what Ed is wearing yet.

Ed swallows audibly when Russ spots him, and suddenly he's forgotten any reason he might want to avoid Russ. Any stupid outfit that he himself is wearing isn't on his radar, and he'll take any amount of teasing to be able to keep looking. It's a fair price to pay.

"Um," he says, his voice cracking a bit. "Nice outfit."

Al comes into the bar proper from the suite where he stays with his brother. Upon his feet touching down on the floor a strange feeling washes over him.
Shaking the strange feeling off Al moves about the bar looking for a friendly face to talk to.

What he see's instead confuses him.

"Brother? Why are you dressed like that?"

Oh Al Heid if only you could see your self now.

The words sound right, but the voice sounds different, and when Ed glances up, he looks both surprised and confused. "Hei -- derich?" he asks, hesitantly. "What are you... doing here?"

And calling him brother. Alfons wouldn't do that deliberately, would he? He wouldn't rub salt in the wound he knew far well existed. In a moment he'll probably put all of this together, but right now he's just confused.

...Al graces his brother with a confusing glare.

"I live with you, why wouldn't I be here?"

Al sits down in the booth across from Ed.

"....Al?" Now Ed really sounds confused. "What are you - why do you look like that?"

Oh, look. Now they're repeating questions.

And lo, it's the actual Fuhrer Mustang! Roy approaches Ed's table first and foremost because he recognises the uniform; it's not something that he's used to seeing in Milliways, after all. At last count, exactly three people wore it on a routine basis -- Maes Hughes, Riza Hawkeye, and Roy himself.

When Roy sees who's actually in it, however, his immediate and considered response is a snicker. He tries to muffle it, but doesn't do a particularly good job.

"That eyepatch doesn't suit you," he says with a grin. In time, the reason that statement amuses him will become apparent to Ed.

"You!" Ed says, his voice a little loud, as he raises his hand and points right at Roy as if this is all his fault. "Screw you, you're not even in a costume! I'll kick your ass if you laugh again!"

He doesn't have a right until the bar makes him be... a bunny or something! Something other than what he is every other day!

"Hey, it's not my fault that Bar decided you should be dressed up like that." Roy smirks. "At least you're not done up like a can-can dancer."

The Fuhrer slides into the seat opposite Ed's and looks at the younger man.

"Would it make things any easier for you if I mentioned that I like a man in uniform?"

Ed's eyebrows practically crawl up into his hairline at the latter comment, and he chooses to just plain ignore the comment about alternative costumes, because if he let himself react to everything then his brain or mouth might break. "And here I thought you had enough people to lewd after with me and all those women," he says. "You been starin' at guys in the army, too?"
