You know those delinquent kids who tuck comic books into their textbooks during class?
Mac's kind of got an arrangement like that going on right now with her biology textbook, except instead of a comic book, it's a magazine with a neon green cover so bright it could be used as a homing beacon.
She figures she's doing the world's eyesight a favor, really. Even if there's barely anybody else out by the lake at the moment.
That, and...there's this weird, faint, and slightly obscure guilt she wasn't expecting to feel when she tracked down the U.S. News & World Report's 2008 issue on America's best colleges. It's just to scratch that itch of curiosity she's been feeling, but...yeah. Weird little bit of guilt all the same.
