There is one Riku, outside the bar, sitting at the lakeside. His shoes are off and his pantslegs are rolled up, his feet in the water. His eyes are closed and he seems to be reflecting on something.

But even if he's thinking a lot about something, he wouldn't be opposed to company. It'd probably be a lot better than his thoughts.

riku, namine, yrael, kairi

A pair of hands covers his eyes from behind.

The perpetrator of this indignity is smiling slightly and making no noise.

Three guesses as to who it might be?

Riku has an edge on anyone else this trick might be played on - he's been used to the darkness for the past few weeks, and having her hands over his eyes makes no difference. What does make a difference is the fact that his other senses have sharpened, and he's able to quickly pick out her identity because of this.

"Should I act confused?" he asks, quietly, and can't help but smile slightly himself - despite his mood, only a moment ago. "Or pretend like I want to get away?"

That would take a lot of pretending!

She laughs, slipping her hands from his eyes again.

"You could pretend, if you wanted to -" she says her tone light, conversational, "- but I would prefer there was no pretense between us. And personally, I'm selfish enough to hope you want me stick around."

Still behind him, she briefly wraps her arms around his neck, her head and his touching - for the span of a heartbeat or two - and then lets him go again.

"You don't need to hope about that," Riku says, and reachs back, trying to catch ahold of her hand so he can pull at it gently. He's trying to get her to sit with him. "I always want you around."

From somewhere behind him, there is the sound of light footsteps as a small girl in white approaches.

She isn't sure how she knew he'd be here, but she knows in that special way of hers. She knows where Sora and his friends are. She knows where her Riku is.

For a moment, she simply watches him, admiring him because she hasn't seen him for months in her time - maybe even Milliways time, too.

Riku is silent for that moment as well, waiting to see if she comes closer - and when she doesn't make any more movement, he offers a hand in her direction. "Namine," he says, and the simple utterance of her name expresses everything.

How much he's missed her, how glad he is to see her... and the hesitance that comes with her seeing him in his current state of affairs.

She takes a step forward, and then another, until the distance between them is soon closed.

She reaches out to take his hand, feeling the warmth of his skin against hers, and a soft smile appears on her lips.

"Hello, Riku," she returns, voice light like the wind.

He closes his hand around hers tightly, holding on as if she's an anchor, or as if she's a feather that will drift off if allowed. "It's been a lon time," he says. "A really, really long time."

He didn't like that. He didn't like that at all.

Here's someone Riku wouldn't want to see, even if he could.

He smells of blood and fire and ashes, and makes no sound as he crosses the grassy area beyond the lakeshore. The demon bunnies have found the weakest of their population culled yet again, tonight.

The most powerful scent in the air is the blood, and this is a fact that makes Riku extremely wary. His eyes open and he's on his feet within seconds, his body forgetting to stumble over his lack of sight in the face of possible danger.

"Who's there?" he asks, his voice loud and sharp. He's not really used to dealing with a blank sense, yet, and Yrael is still a fair distance away, which means that the little details below the blood and fire aren't apparent yet. Not of an identity, and not of the mood of the person wearing these scents, either. In a moment, probably so.

But not just yet.

He doesn't answer, nor does he move closer. He sits and begins to wash the blood from his fur.

It mats the fur if you let it dry, and that's a lot of blood.

"If you're trying to freak me out by not answering," Riku says, "That's not going to work." Even though it actually is, uh, unsettling him. "I don't have a reason to be scared of anything."
