Venkman vaguely remembered Garion. Been a long time since he had spoken to him. But that wasn't why he was reacting.
That was due to the very familiar man suddenly appearing.
"RAY!" He jumped out of his seat, and huffed his way over. More of his exercise was chasing kids or ghosts, and didn't get much gym time as he used to.
"It has nothing to do with the door, Peter," says Ray. "Something happened to me the last time I was in here, and I got thrown not only out of the Bar, but clear into another world entirely. I've been stuck there for a really, really long time."
This is Venkman. It's probably best to ease him into this one step at a time, Ray figures.
Sometime slightly after the convo with Venkman, there's a man in a gray suit waving. "Hey, Ray," says this possibly familiar figure. "I think your counterpart's about up to speed now."
Blink. Blink blink. "Counterpart? I don't- oh, right, the animated one," Ray says. "He must've left by now, otherwise I wouldn't be here. Hi, Michael."
"Presumably; you're the only patron I can think of who has multiple versions of himself coming here. I thought he was the animated version, but I couldn't work out a way to broach the subject that wouldn't violate Rule Four if he didn't already know." Now it's Michael's turn to blink, blink blink. "There's something different about you."
"There's been more than one version of Egon here," Ray says. "Except that there were two of Egon here at a single time once, the animated version and the one from Peter's world. The next time that version of me shows up, ask him if he's from Blond Egon's world. The animated continuum is the only one where Spengs has blond hair."
Then he nods. "Yeah. I'm not sure exactly how it happened, but I'm forty-seven years older than the last time we met."

"Yes, I am. How can I help you, sir? Drink?"

"Explain."
That is the voice of a king used to being obeyed.
"Please."
And that is the voice of a man who realizes he's not king here.
Beldaran, for her part, looks very worried.

"Years? Hey, don't kid me with the weird time, Ray, I know the door's not working too well, but can't have been that long. Weeks, or months sure."
