"Look out below!" Really, the call is too late, because the book hits the ground before the warning is finished.

The book is followed by Ryoko, who has been reading up on surfing in the rafters. "Sorry about that, I must have dozed off... oh, hi Washu." She retrieves her book.

"Hm?" She watches the book fall and her legs stop kicking, her lips pursed around the straw but not getting any of the liquid from within the glass. Then she follows Ryoko's trail with her eyes and smiles.

"You should be more careful with those books, someone might get hurt if you keep reading them, and then falling asleep in those rafters, Ryoko." She was putting on her best Mom voice she could.

"It could be worse," Ryoko jokes, "it could have been a textbook!"

She laughs, "That's true."
She had been known to throw textbooks at people, herself, so she wasn't going to argue, nor was she going to admit to anything.
"I'm going to try and take it easy for a few days here, I'm hoping that the time-flux will be favorable. I don't need people wondering where I am. So what's goin' on with you? Any new love interests?" She was feeling surprisingly playful and goofy.

Ajedrez, viewing Wolfwood, just has Genie from Aladin wailing about losing to a rug in her head.

Sadly, she doesn't think Wolfwood knows Disney.

"You're doing well," she informs him, and she doesn't even sound sarcastic.

Just.

Exceedingly amused.

"Bullshit, this damn hunk of wood keeps beating me. How does a goddamn bar get good at chess, anyway?"
Snarlgrowlgrrrrr.
He brightened however, and wrapped an arm around Ajedrez's waist, making a move, "Maybe all I need is a lucky charm."

A wicked grin.

"A lucky charm?"

"Mm-hmm." He gave her a wry smile, before kissing her on the cheek.
It was taking Bar a bit longer than usual to figure out a move, so it gave Nick a little bit of hope.
"See, what'd I tell you, a lucky charm."
