It was quite possible that there was a pink-haired girl in equally pink PJs hiding under a nearby table, "Pssst!" He could probably see her from where he was, really.

She was kind of hard to miss in the 'ow my eyes' way.

He glances up, then blinks several times until his eyes adjust to the pink.

"...um. Hi?"

Because, see, she was running away from one when she got here, and she wasn't sure if it had followed her. She'd be more than happy to explain so, if he asked.
