Having stayed for a few days after that battle (it's so nice to have a real shower every day for as long as you like), Syal's at a table, dressed in civilian clothes and drinking a milkshake.

She squeaks at the sound of Myri's voice and looks up and stares.

"--but this is my impossible magic bar!"

Myri turns around quickly, gaping at Syal.

"Why are you here? Aren't you supposed to be flying somewhere?"

Clearly the fact that Syal is in a magic bar is a lot more important than the fact that said magic bar exists.

Syal shakes her head and puts her milkshake down on the table.

"I was, but I'm taking a break. Just a couple days. Why are you here? You're supposed to be at home."

This is the sister version of 'welcome to Milliways', obviously.

"I'm supposed to be making sure the government doesn't kill Dad, and I can't do that because I ended up in some freak bar with you."

Allana picks up a particular doll, one with curly blonde hair and a pretty green dress. "How'd you do it?"

Myri tugs a lock of hair in front of her face. It's pink, dusting to yellow at the bottom.

"Spray dyes. Mostly. I change it a lot."
