He isn't alone out here. Amanda is enjoying the fresh air away from the bulk of the people. She has been spending alot of time out here because of the crowds.
She smiles over in the mans direction as they make eye contact. though such things are strange and she may look a little uncomfortable doing so. Her feet bear wearing modern clothing.
Looking back at him when he speaks she starts to speak but then stops realizing that asking the question on her mind would lead to her having to answer back.
"If you can discount my untimely death, it's not bad here. The food is great, and no one is trying to make me do a damned thing." He smiles, though it's a smile meant for himself.
"My wife, my secretary, the board of regents, everyone." OK, not quite everyone. And it's not like he didn't give as good as he gets. "I had a difficult job, running a school." After his talk with Will, he figures the details of a college will confuse her.
Yes they probably would but at the mention of a school she looks hopeful but then stops as he has just mentioned that everyone had been demanding of him and he was tired of it.
"Sounds like hardwork." Amanda doesn't like hardwork.
"It was exceedingly hard work, Miss...Amanda." He has a habit of calling anyone under 35 Miss or Mister. It's condescending. And hard to do before anyone had last names. "But it had some perks."
And yet she see's it as him giving her respect because no one ever used a title which is why she tenses up just a bit, "What perks?" Amanda likes perks, she is getting used to them here.
"I have seen a small house in your time. It is nicer then many of the castle of mine." she has snuck in once or twice. "I can't imagine what a big house would be like." Hmm maybe hardwork could be worth it.
"Yes I cannot return to my time at the moment but I met someone here that took me to his time, his world. From what I understand it is about the same as your time. Early 21st century." repeated as she has heard it said.
"I didn't know you could do that." He wonders what that means for him. Can the dead leave? No, it doesn't seem likely. "That must have been extremely confusing."
"I didn't know either until Ryu mentioned it." she smiles, "It was. He explained those automobiles and some of the other strange machines. And the people dress so strangely." she looks down at her new clothes.
"Pants on women. Yes, it's still strange to some of us." He's just old enough to remember when all the girls wore skirts to school. "Though the car might top that." How can she go back home after seeing such things?
"I am still getting used to it." as she adjusts her jeans again. "It is amazing, a huge horseless carrage. The wonders that man will create." she wonders who is going to be exploited to make it happen, but then she is just jaded that way.
She smiles over in the mans direction as they make eye contact. though such things are strange and she may look a little uncomfortable doing so. Her feet bear wearing modern clothing.
