The door opens. This is hardly new. In fact, the man coming through it not new either.

The clothes are, though The sword isn't new, but it's different. The demeanor certainly isn't the same.

"Che," is a breathless swear, eyes narrowed against the bright lights of Milliways when this man was coming in from -- say, a dark and shadowy alley. He was ( Read more... )

If Inari had her white ears no doubt they would have pressed flat against her head at hearing the swearing. Bright blue eyes turn to glance at the entering figure from over the rim of a simple little red cup casting a scent of lavender about her.

The kitsune had been people watching for a better part of the day as they came in and out of Milliways quite content for the moment. Until Hiro entered. With a sing-song voice she replied in the same language that had been spoken, "That is the most interesting choice of words I have listened to yet."

One brow arches up, and he tilts his head to consider the woman before him. "It is customary to curse bad fortune," he replies in the same. "To discourage it from returning."

A warm little smile creeped its way upon the kitsune's face again as she siped at her cup of tea. "And you would call this place a luck of bad fortune?" With her eyes twinkling she studied the odd man that had just come through the door- her eyes instantly going to the sword and widening a little.

For now, she will speak nothing of it. Yet.

The sword that bears the mark of Godsend upon it is there -- but hardly that remarkable in Milliways.

"At the moment? Yes."

[ooc: I'm breaking my own self-set temporary rule here, BUT.]

Sally looks up from her pile of magazine and various things at the stranger that just entered.

"Are you alright?" Sally offers Hiro a sympathetic frown, stitches creasing.

Hiro's glance is sharp, almost cutting.

"Fine," he replies tersely.

"That's good." Sally smiles slightly, then turns all the way around to face him completely. "You're in Milliways. It's the end of the universe, and there's a forest and lake outside. Bar will help you with most of the stuff you need, she's very nice. Are you human?"

Important thing to ask, in Sally's opinion.

"I know where I am," Hiro says-- the edge of a growl, but not quite there. "I have been here before. Just -- not in a long time."

When the last question is levied, however, Sally is fixed with a Look.

Not a good question to ask, Sally.

Ray is not one of the most cuss-prone men on Earth, and his Japanese is crummy to nonexistent, so he doesn't notice the swearing so much as the abrupt arrival. He glances up from the table where he's welding the last few bits of something together and blinks a little. "Are you okay?" he asks.

Hiro looks at the man -- and takes a moment. It -- does take time for him to remember.

"Fine," he answers smoothly. "It's been a while."

"Oh, okay," says Ray, and starts to turn back to his project. But there's something sort of familiar about the guy, like he should-

He squints back at the newcomer and blinks twice.

"Hiro?"

"Ray," he says -- perhaps cooly for the once ridiculously bubbly man's former demeanor.

Sort of like how a fire that's been doused is 'kinda out'.

Peter's back is turned, and he doesn't see Hiro. At the moment, most of his attention is focused on getting as drunk as superhumanly possible.

(Maybe someday he'll wind up near somebody with the ability to neutralize hangovers.)

But he's not that far away, and he's visible.

Visible is something new.

"Petrelli," he says.

Not hiding behind your super woman, huh?

Oh, for --

"Hiro."

He takes another swallow of whatever he's drinking -- it's dark, and it looks like serious business -- and glances over his shoulder.

"You want something?"

"How about a friendly greeting instead of that piss-eye you're giving me?" Hiro retorts as he grabs a chair. "I never saw you here before..."
