Azula walked in from somewhere in the Earth Kingdom. She'd taken one look at the bar and growled, low, under her breath. She moved directly outside, itching to grab the last bit of sunlight before it goes away and she leaves again.

Her brother catches her immediate attention. She crosses her arms, and watches him for a long moment. "Bad day, Zuzu?"

Old habits die hard.

"Just taking out the trash," Zuko says, his eyes on the plume of smoke rising from the bonfire.

"An interesting way of doing so." Azula states, following his gaze.

"Haven't you ever seen anybody burn their trash? Peasants do it all the time. But, then -- you've never really been out of the palace. Not really."

Not like Zuko has, not had to see what what Zuko has seen.

Wells came to the Bar after working with the girls today. Did a bunch of knife-throwing- he's getting good at that. But afterwards he still had some things he needed to do, to keep himself well ahead of the Slayers, and running was one of them. So he's been on an endurance kick today- five minutes the mile, as many miles as he can manage without stopping.

... the number just ceased climbing, because the stink of chemicals and flames will always get Wells' attention.

Yeah. You burn someone's clothes and odds and ends and pictures and...

Well, yes. It creates quite a stink. Zuko doesn't seem to mind, though. The stink of burning -- burning anything -- is the first thing a Firebender is trained to adjust to.

Wells moves in towards the fire carefully, but he's not going to say anything just yet. He's just going to watch, and take stock of the situation. Anything could set off worse.

Volatile firebenders, indeed, can be dangerous. Zuko just settles back to watch it go up, ash and smoke leaving it's mark on the sky.

He seems relatively calm, but that's like saying he's nitroglycerin. He only might explode if you bump him right.

There's someone in the bar. He doesn't pull attention to himself, but he's there, enjoying his usual. Olives and oil and bread and cheese and a bit of wine. There's enough for two, though.

Zuko comes in later -- after everything is smoldering...

You know? Food and someone who doesn't throw him away sound great. He slips in-- knowing he is welcome-- and breaks bread with his mentor.

"I hear the forges here are empty now. That Will person hasn't been in there in a couple of days."

Anything to not talk about Stephanie.

He is the last person to talk about romance.

"I'd noticed."

He fidgets a little, and then says, "It's just horse shoes. And swords for fools who think they can use one."

He doesn't know that he can work such a thing. But doesn't someone have to?
