It's been a long time since Lucifer brought his guitar - well, his stolen guitar - into the bar, but for no apparent reason it's lying across his lap as he sits on a table in one of the booths. If you can be bothered to notice these things, his hair is a little longer than it has been, and threatening to start to curl just the tiniest bit ( Read more... )

Raguel glances over and almost bursts into hysterical laughter. He'd been prepared for one confrontation, but it wasn't this one. On the other hand, Lucifer looks relaxed and pleasantly distracted where Raguel feels tense and compulsive.

Maybe it would be better just to remain silent for a few minutes.

Yeah, like that's ever worked for Raguel before.

Lucifer looks at him and raises his eyebrows.

"Do you have some kind of bet with yourself to appear even more like you've been on the losing end of a battle with a thorn bush every time you step foot in the bar, Raguel?"

He sighs. So much for that.

"I'm kinda having a bad week," he says tightly.

There's much more, of course, but so much that he isn't even certain where to start.

"I am quite convinced that you go looking for bad weeks."

Thom slides easily into the booth, looking up at Lucifer with a polite, friendly expression.

"Hey, stranger," he says.

Lucifer's face is at least halfway towards the normal sardonic greeting when a thoughtful expression falls over it.

"So you went ahead with it, then."

He starts to smile, then bites his lip instead. "Does it show?"

"Quite a lot."

Two fingers tuck under Thom's chin, next to the carotid pulse, just for long enough to catch the rhythm.

"Alanna?"

He doesn't use her name often.

Michael is sitting somewhere within view of the window. He's been sitting there for the past few hours, observing and contemplating his very existence-not something healthy for an angel. He occasionally looks over his shoulder, but it’s never a more detailed search than a quick glance.

Michael stretches hearing his joints pop, and then he stops, his arms extended above his head. If someone were looking at his face, they’d see a look of utter horror blank out the features of anything else.

Michael jumps to his feet and turns towards the source of the familiar itch that is unique to someone Michael hasn't seen in a while, and that Michael never ceases to look for in a way.

Two can play at that game. Lucifer's fingers still and his palm lies flat on the polished wood.

And then very, very slowly, his head turns.

He doesn't jump. He doesn't move at all.

"Well, brother mine," the Morningstar says eventually, "I suppose it was only a matter of time before you found this place."

Michael sidesteps away from Lucifer’s direct gaze as he makes his approach. His fingers twitch by his side in a sign of nervousness.

It is a few seconds more before he looks at them and visibly flattens them against his leg.

He swallows, using his bent head to hide the fact, and when he lifts it, he says calmly, “Lucifer.” When referencing to Lucifer in conversations with other people, he is often ‘brother’, but now, facing him, Michael refuses to acknowledge it.

“It has been some time.” Michael takes another step towards the booth, remaining at an odd angle.

“I’ve met a few of you,” Michael’s lip twitches. “One was female.”

"Crux of many universes," Lucifer says evenly. "Apparently my story is popular."

Beat. He still doesn't move.

"I haven't met the female one."

If there were anytime in Sugar's life where she was told that she would meet the Lucifer, she'd probably laugh. The tapping of two fingers on the wood distracts her from her magazines, who knows how many times she's combed through them...

Sugar muses her hair a little before walking over to Lucifer. "Can you play well?" Was her first question, in her head there was another `play me something?`. She was such a sucker for pretty men and talent like that, she always admired those that could play instruments...

Lucifer gives her an assessing look.

"I can play extremely well."

"Really?" Sugar takes his assessing look with a grain of salt, she's had men stare at her worse. "Will you play something?" She was just itching for a nice song to make her day better in one way or another...

The assessing look doesn't move from her face.

"I don't play for free," he says solemnly.

Lilly's got a baby on each hip and a number of waitrats following her with various baby paraphenalia. Her face lights up as she spots Lucifer.

"Hi! Can you hold this for a second?"

This being Aria.

Lucifer stares at it. Not making any kind of effort to reach out.

"You're on babysitting duty?"

"No, you are."

Lilly attempts to look solemn at him.

"Sometimes fantastic sex has consequences, Lucifer. But if it makes you feel better, think how happy Adam will be to have half-siblings!"

"You're hilarious," Lucifer says.

And then -

"Lilly Kane. Where did you get these babies?"

He certainly wouldn't put stealing them past her.
