So.

Sometimes, Bar plays nasty, nasty tricks on those who have already been tricked. Nick would realize this, were it not for his amnesia.

And you may be thinking, well, wait. If Nick's got amnesia, why hasn't he been running around asking anyone questions about what's going on?

He's been preoccupied, you see.

He fell asleep with the book of names that Bar gave him not too long ago, face first on a page of circled boy names. When he woke up, that book was the first thing he saw (aside from the apple with one bite in it) and it led him to draw one conclusion and one conclusion only: he's going to be a father.

As he searched his pockets for a wallet or any sign of identification, he found a little box with a very pretty, very blue necklace in it. The bow on said box had a little tag hanging off of it that read "To: Blodwen" which led him to draw another, completely logical conclusion: she must be the mother and she MUST be his wife.

Which fully explains why he's now sitting at the same table he's been at since he first fell asleep, wearing a shirt that proudly advertises the fact that Nick is going to be the "World's Greatest (Future) Dad".

Why it magically appeared on the bar with his name on it is not important. Who he is... is not important. Where he is... is also not important. Where'd his wedding ring go? Not important! What is important is that he has no clue how far along Blodwen is with the child, and if they haven't gotten a name picked out, well.

Clearly, that is the most important thing.

He can find out his own name later.

will scarlett, blodwen rowlands, midsummer night's amnesia, nick carraway
