Bran met Jennifer Lowell once. He has no quarrel with her, although he spoke harshly when they met. Tonight, he nods politely at Jennifer, sending his white hair flying in all directions.
Her small smile doesn't exactly disappear when she catches his eye, but it does fade from the bright cheer of a young woman to something older and more thoughtful.
She approaches, chin lifting, and says quietly, "Good evening, Bran Davies."
Jaelle found a door in the basement of a house by a lake, and opened it, and has found herself here.
She looks the same as she ever has, and very different. Her hair is bound back with a simple cord, and her dress (which seems odd to her after all that time in white) is a deep blue.
But there's no outward show of surprise to find herself here. Or to see the other woman. (Even if she is in fact, surprised by both.

Paul is caught staring - and staring openly.
Of all the faces he'd never expected to see again.
"Jen."

The last thing he'd seen of Jennifer Lowell was her sailing off into a legend. People don't come back from that, do they?
"God - Jen, how the hell did you get here?" he demands, over her shoulder.

Pulling back to look at him, she adds, "There's more ways to travel than just by boat."

That all changes in the blink of an eye. Kim jerks to a halt, staring.
"Jen."
It's a whisper, barely more than that-- that's all that will come through her suddenly-aching throat.
"Oh, Jen."
Reply
"Kim."
And then she's rushing forward in a swirl of skirts, arms outstretched, to pull her best friend into a hug.

"Wait-- I thought-- but how did you--"

"I had not thought to see you again."
Her face darkens slightly.
"I trust this does not mean that anything is wrong."

She looks Jaelle over, and adds, "Things have changed since we left, haven't they? How are you?"
