Thanksgiving is fast approaching and Martha Kent has decided that they should host a dinner for their friends. This doesn't please Clark. He'd rather it just be the two of them - a nice quiet holiday, the first one without his Dad. But like he'll say no to his mother ( Read more... )

Rose has no idea whether it's Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years' or any other holiday for that matter. These things tend to stop being important when one has a time machine. It is, however, most definitely time for a decent cup of tea, since she woke up to find the TARDIS parked out back, and it was, presumably, morning.

After snagging some real, proper tea from Bar (she never thought she'd miss it til it was near-impossible to get in some times and places), she settles into one of the big, fluffy chairs nearby, and tries not to look as though she's staring at the rather hot guy with the notebook. She's not here to flirt with the locals.

Oh, all right, maybe a little.

"Hello," she says, flashing a brief little smile to her neighbor on the sofa.

Clark sort of notices people coming and going from the area of the bar he's in, but it's a busy place so someone sitting down in the vicinity doesn't really warrant much interest.

Until she says something. Because it's rude to ignore people who are being friendly. It's not his fault she's cute.

"Hey," he replies, giving her a smile of his own. "Busy morning around here, isn't it?"

"It seems like, but I bet it's not even really morning to half these people. Y'know, I'm not even sure it's morning for me, for that matter."

What? She lives in a time machine, and the Doctor's no help, because he doesn't sleep nearly as much as humans.

"I'm not interrupting anything important, am I?" she asks, with a nod to the notebook he'd been frowning at when she came over.

"Probably not," Clark agrees with another smile. And then he looks momentarily confused. "Interrupting? Oh. No." He closes the notebook and sets it on a nearby table. "I could do with a distraction, actually. Otherwise, I think my mind will rebel and I won't get anywhere."
