Earlier today Lilly paid a visit to her brother through the Dreaming, to fill him in on the news of her recent afterlife changes. She was also going to ask him for advice on child-rearing (aka, how soon is soon enough for boarding school?) but she got tired of waiting for him to stop laughing after about an hour or so

"They're even cuter up close." So says the woman standing a little bit aways, eying the babies. 'Cause...eee babies!

That motherly instinct thing must have started working.

Lilly blinks.

"They are?"

She leans in, staring intently down at boybaby.

"Huh. They just seem kinda blobby to me."

"There's a symmetry to small babies that is appealing." Kira points out. "They're less blobby now than they were before they were born."

She has pictures of her baby as it is right now. Aka: A blob.

"...point," Lilly concedes.

"I don't know, I could use a little less symmetry. For instance, did there really have to be two of them?"

Leo is passing by on his way to the lake when he sees Lilly at a table with babies.

Waitaminutebabies.

After passing the table, Leo makes his way back and stares at Girlbaby and Boybaby.

"What huh?"

"Huh what?"

Lilly stares back for a second before recognition dawns.

"Oh! Leo, hi. Sorry, I haven't been sleeping all that well lately. Guess why?"

"...you won the lottery and you keep rolling around in your pool of money?"

He is inspecting Girlbaby. Is that really a baby or a baby doll? He shouldn't be surprised if it is a doll.

"Yes. Yes, that is exactly what happened."

God, if it weren't clear before that Donnie was the brains of this bunch, Lilly thinks.

"It has nothing to do with the recently acquired twin babies you're staring at."

Mal sees Lilly.

Mal sees Boybaby and Girlbaby.

See Mal confused.

"Uh...Lil'? There's a memo I missed somewhere."

"Hi, Mal."

He gets a smile. It's trying to convey many things at once and probably failing at all of them.

"So, um. I have twins now. Oh, and a husband. How're you?"

"Twinless. Also regretablly husband-less and how come you got a husband? All I got is Niao."

[awesome_lilly]

"I don't know what Niao is, but if you're insulting Inara I'm revoking your honorary uncle status."

Lilly arches an eyebrow.

"Trust me, you don't want that. I'm pretty sure I can get these two to puke on command. Twin vomit volcanoes are not to be messed with, mu ji."

Raven does not think the babies will explode.

Possibly that is why he scoops up Boybaby, flopping into a seat across from Lilly.

"These, I think, are not meant for charring, yes?"

Lilly's half-grabbing for the baby again before she realizes who it is and relaxes. Which... ironic.

"Hey, Raven. Yeah, don't burn them please? I think Puck'd kill me."

"Also the babies would be dead! Which is bad."

"It is like geckos, perhaps."

Which is to say 'they are better raw'.

Likely he is kidding!

"...yeah, totally. Babies are like geckos."

Lilly shrugs. She's got more things to worry about than untangling Raven's metaphors.

"Wanna be a godfather?"

Babies.

Babies are . . . strange. And loud. And generally, things to be eyed, warily. Especially when they come in multiples.

Mary may never know how much Lilly agrees with her.

"Hey there."

[mmquitecontrary]

"Are those babies yours?" Mary demands, without an answering greeting.

One never knows, after all - and whoever is reproducing, Mary should like to be aware of the fact.

"Looks like it," Lilly says cheerfully.

She pauses.

"Well, mine and Puck's if you want to get technical about it."
