Rachel understood prayer, and did not interrupt...but she didn't hide her presence either as she drifted by in full spandex. She had a security badge on her left shoulder...but perhaps more startling was the X-men badge on her right.

Sooraya lifted her head as she caught sight of the other woman, in the corner of her eye. The spandex and badges held her attention. One of us?
She stood, her eyes on Rachel.

She was very good at sensing when others were watching, so she turned and arched an eyebrow, emerald eyes almost seeming to dance with flame for a moment. "Good morning?"

"Asalaam alaikum. Or simply, hello." She sounds a touch nervous, and puzzled. "If I may trouble you for a few minutes? I'd hoped to ask someone about this place."

"Ashhadu Allah ilaaha illa-Lah," Sayid murmurs, standing and praying in the shade of a nearby tree.

He doesn't notice her, as his eyes are closed.

She's walking toward the lake. The sound of his voice, the familiar words, stops her. Even now, though, she won't interrupt another's prayers. She waits til his eyes open before she'll speak. "Asalaam alaikum."

Sayid's more used to being interrupted by polar bears than other people, so he honestly wouldn't mind.

He raises an eyebrow at her. "Aleikum asalaam," he says politely. He's only met one other Muslim here before.

"I don't believe we've met?" he continues, in Arabic.

"No," she agrees, in the same language. "My name is Sooraya Qadir. I walked into this place, the Milliways, yesterday."
