"Newspaper say anything interesting?" Ajedrez asks, sliding onto a seat near him.

Great, big, lazy, cat.

"Apparently, someone died last night."

Random affects shock and consternation.

Her eyes widen and she presses her hand to her mouth.

"Oh, no!"

"Tragic."

He shakes his head, sadly.

"Foul play is suspected."

Sands spots Random from his own corner of brooding and coffee, and inclines his head in an almost friendly manner. They didn’t really part on the best of terms last they spoke, but, well… it’s been a while.

And Random's in a good mood. Charitable mood. So he gives him an open smile.

“Hi. You look strangely happy.”

Which is obviously a reason to be suspicious.

"Life's been grand recently."

He's definitely happy.

"Your ex's doubling as a hit-man, you know."

Draco stopped by, wearing a new moonstone pendant around his neck.

"The matter's settled. He won't be a problem for us," he remarked as he stopped by, not really caring about the newspaper.

"Good," says Random, calmly.

"That's important."

"Of course. Just letting you know." Draco then went to walk away again.

"A man of little words," says Random, teasingly, to his back.

"How mysterious."

Mary Anne drops into a seat across from him, grinning broadly.

"Hello, lovely. Long time, no see."

"Mary Anne."

He folds the newspaper.

"How goes?"

"Not bad," she said.

"Took a little vacation, now I'm back here enjoying hot food and hot showers. How are things with you?"

"Great. Cartel's going well."

He nods happily.

"We're happy. Martin's in preschool."
