Nita and Kit went home -- on the combined insistence of Carmela and Nita, but mostly Carmela -- Tuesday night. And when Nita dropped by the Rodriguez's tonight and asked 'Mela if she could use the closet, she had to promise to check up on Filif ("Okay, okay, and Ronan too if I see him! Sheesh

Bond has approached Bar to pick up a medium-sized dinner. He's not strictly hungry, but he's not strictly full enough to merit a small dinner. He eyes Nita's stack of books with a dry grin as he stops at the bar.

"Heavy workload?"

"Could be worse," she says absently. "The American high school system stops for no girl."

He laughs. "It does here. Or time does, at least. And the system's reliant on time, isn't it?"

She looks up, smirking.

"True. Why do you think I bring my homework here?"

She may have been spotted when Nita came into the Bar, but maybe not. Either way there is a silent girl completely covered in black staring over (and at) Nita's shoulder. It's hard to tell with her face completely covered, but she might be curious.

She's looking around as she settles in, and catches sight of the girl.

. . . Well, okay, it's Milliways. There are stranger-dressed people around.

She gives a little wave.

The wave may be seen, maybe not. Either way it goes unacknowledged. Instead a slender gloved finger reaches out and brushes down one of the scars on Nita's arm. The girl's head cocks just slightly to the side.

She starts a little.

"Um. They're new."

Yeah, well, what can you do?

She looks up and beams. "Hey, Behrooz!"

"Alive."

Cheerfully enough.

"Tired, but pretty good."

Ronan's a few seats down from Nita, attacking a plate of fried chicken with immense gusto.

"Yah," he says around a mouthful of chicken.

She claps her book shut.

"Ronan Nolan Junior, I ought to smack you."

"Proper--" He chews and swallows. "There's proper gratitude for you. I save your tuppin' life and I don't even get a thank-you kiss."

"Nobody calls me Juanita Louise and gets away with it."

She rests her chin on her hand. "Anyway, I saved yours and I never got one."

"Well, hello, what's this? A specimen of the Nitaus Callahanitus, looking much better than she did a few days ago."

Duo steals one of her books.

"I am not a specimen," she objects, and makes a grab for the book.

"Lies," he says, standing on a rung of another barstool and dangling it over her head. "What is this, anyway?"

Duo flips through it. "I still don't know why you don't just like, conjure your completed homework out of the ether."

She subsides, trying to glower and failing.

"Because that would be cheating."
