"No, I'm not." Cliff's grateful for something that isn't as ugly as last night's business, honestly. He puts down his cup. "Bitten? Here, sit down with him," vacating his chair for her, "and let me have a look."
She does, deep concern in her expression as she rolls his sleeve up.
"It was a big white bird, I forget what it was called. Jack wasn't doing anything, we were just walking and it rushed right at him and bit him before I could stop it." she says guiltily. "I tried putting a cold flannel on it but it didn't seem to do anything."
Jack's arm is red and swollen with a big bruise, about the circumferance of a golf ball.
"Ouch. A swan or a goose?" He pats Jack's shoulder gently, checks to see if the skin on his arms is broken or only bruised. "'K. Let's get an ice pack for that, and some kiddie aspirin--medicine for pain," he adds, realizing she might not know what that is. "Are you all right?" looking at Betty.

He is approached by Shufti, with a sobbing Jack in her arms.
"Are you busy? Jack got bitten by a big bird."
