Jay's latest game seems to be testing how many teetering steps he can take before falling down. The fact that the floor is solid wood doesn't seem to be dampening his enthusiasm in the slightest, at least as long as his dad's around to hold his hand and help him up when he stumbles.

Distractions would be quite welcome.

"Hey Ash!" Bill calls from the table he's sitting at. He waves and then nods down at the little on Ash is supervising. "Who's this?"

"Oh, hey."

He catches Jay just before he takes another spill and carries him over to Bill's table.

"Forgot you two haven't met. This is Jay."

"Jay? Hello there." He smiles at the child and looks back to Ash. "He's cute. How old is he?"

"Almost a year. Hard to believe it's been that long."

He sighs a bit as Jay settles down on his lap. The kid's gotten heavy.

"You got kids back home?"
