John's yelling wakes Will up and he stumbles over to him, looking medieval and bleary and holding his staff, "Would ye keep down, was tryin' to sleep?'

"Ne'er 'eard of it, tis it near the Caribbean?"

All the people Will knows who dress like John does are either sailors or pirates, so he's now curious and a bit more awake, so being nicer.

"Not... really? It's not particularly close."

John could be a sailor! He sure as hell has the mouth for it.

"Ah just the other men I know who mentioned a king George are sailors from the Caribbean. Is America a new isle then?"

See now Will's being nice and trying to be helpful in his own odd way.

"You could consider it such, I suppose. You're... not from the same time as I, are you?"

He's getting the idea! Slowly, but. Getting it!

"Aye, probably, I'm from the year of our lord 1138 and Nottingham, England, what tis yer age, sir,"

Now Will does a polite bow, trying to look harmless and not too worrying for this rather confused man.

John's mind goes a-boggling.

"... 1776," he says, sounding a bit helpless.

"Didna catch yer name, sir, but tis lovely food and drink 'ere, would ye join me for breakfast?"

Now Will gestures to a nearby table, gently piloting John to sit down, and rests his staff on the chair and does a friendly smile.

"John Adams," he says, deciding to leave off the title. Will wouldn't know what he meant, anyway. "I'd... love to."

He is hungry, but still very dumbfounded.

"And what's your name?"

"Will Scarlett, Master Adams,"

and calls over a waitrat trying to be as subtle as possible,

"Two breakfasts and some english tea,"

Will says to the rat and tries to look as if this isn't that weird.

John says nothing.

In fact, he remains silent.
