Someone might want to distract him. Or ask whether he's eaten since lunch.

"Tried to rewrite something in the code and it logged me out entirely. Guess the industry's caught onto a few tricks by the time this thing gets out."
He doesn't sound entirely frustrated, and there's a grudging sort of respect in his tone as well. But just because hoping people have the sense to improve their computers' security comes with his job doesn't mean he has to like it stopping him from noodling around.
