As luck would have it, family is in this evening.

"Hello, Eustace," she says. "Oh dear... Are you- have you seen the door?"

She's spoken to Tirian already.

He brightens -- he hadn't expected to see her.

"Well, yes. You've talked to Tirian, then?"

"I have."

She places a hand on his shoulder. "Are you going to go through it?"

Serious, he nods.

"If it might get me back to Narnia -- I've got to, Susan."

"Eustace."

Caspian is standing nearby, and after his talk with Tirian had been looking about for just this familiar face. "I'd hoped to catch you; so you're leaving, then?"

"--Caspian, there you are."

Eustace nods, running a hand through his hair. "Once I've talked to everyone, yes."

[the_seafarer]

He nods back, and the sea-gray eyes glance at the door before meeting Eustace's again, strong and steady. "It's well that you're going with him, Eustace. Tirian will need you, I think."

"Maybe so."

He straightens a little, unconciously.

"Caspian -- thanks. For everything."

He'll find one.

But then Edmund was talking to Tirian earlier; he might be looking for Eustace, too.

Spotting his cousin, he calls "Edmund!" and hurries over.

"Hallo, Scrubb."

It's a quick grin he gets, genuine but preoccupied, and it fades.

The tilt of his head says, what's your news? It also implies that Edmund doesn't expect to be surprised by said news.
