A distracted red-head in a wheelchair rolls into the Bar. "Okay, Dinah, I'll give you another call after you land." She stops pushing herself along and reaches up to slide the headset off her head. She slides her glasses down and pinches the bridge of her nose ( Read more... )

Maybe they will; one can hope, right? But not everyone's out there yet. Ichigo happens to notice Barbara right about the same time he notices that everything outside has gone not-Winter, which is always good in his books. But...well, a lot of people are outside, and he's not sure if anybody would want to take the time to explain to somebody who may or may not be new where she is.

Basically, he's stuck choosing between the handicap and the party, and it's pretty obvious which one he chooses.

"Hey, are you new to Milliways?"

He never liked parties anyways...

She looks over at him and takes in his odd clothing. "Is that what this place is called? I suppose I am." She's grinning, this is going to be fun.

Well, at least she's not staring blankly at her surroundings like she's gone off the deep end. That's a much more common reaction.

"Yup, this is Milliways, Bar at the end of the universe." He holds a hand out to her, not overly friendly, not terribly cold. "Name's Ichigo. Hope you enjoy it here."

She glances up at his hair then back at him and grins. "'Strawberry', huh? How appropriate." She holds out her own hand, "I'm Barbara. Nice to meet you."

There is a blur, and a redhaired man is standing close by, tray at the ready.

"Get you something to drink ma'am? First one is on the house."

Barbara is still looking around the bar as she responds, "Coffee?"

Then she looks up and blinks, "Bart?" Then her mouth snaps shut, he probably doesn't know who she is, and she doesn't really want to have to explain.

Zip, and back with a steaming mug. And then he frowns.

"ah, have we met before?"

She shakes her head, looking for something to distract him with. "So, um, where am I, exactly?"

The young man carefully carrying a full teapot and empty teacup across the room is fair-haired, perhaps twenty years old, and dressed in a slightly old-fashioned manner -- an aficionado of the 1940s and '50s, perhaps.

And he's British, as is apparent when he offers her a wry smile and "First time here, then?"

"Milliways," Edmund answers promptly. "The Bar at the end of the universe."

Now that's certainly intriguing. "Temporally or spatially?"
