Carl went back to San Francisco after lunch yesterday... and promptly realized he'd forgotten to leave a note for Val, at the very least. Which wouldn't be such a big deal, only he's thinking her input on the paperwork stuff could be helpful

Oh, look. There's a blonde woman sitting at a table, talking to herself in some harsh language. Strange, but typical.

"Smart people or those who're exceptional at what they do." Or really, in many cases, both. "I don't really know why, but that's just the bar for you."

"It works, though. Oh, and I told Suzi you'd moved universes, and she said she might have to ask you about the experience. Granted, it's not quite the same situation, but still."

Val laughs. "I didn't even really know it was happening, honestly. After I got married, the door just... didn't open back in my old universe anymore. It kept opening to Coruscant. Or, well, whatever planet I was on last."

"Which is more experience with it than any of us other than Suzi have."

"True. Yeah, I'd be more than happy to talk to her when I see her around at some point." She smiles.

"She's... hard to miss, when she's here. Aside from the tentacles, she's got an ankle bracelet so Whistler can find her. I swear she makes it jingle out of habit by now."

Val laughs. "Hey, you do whatever you can to find people. Luke and I have developed a really... odd mental connection." Odd if you don't know about the Force. "I can sense when he's around, and how he's doing."

"Well, if it works..."
No weirder than Suzi getting hungry in relation to everyone else. Carl's still not entirely sure how that one works, and it may well be unexplainable, at least in terms he'd get.
