Things walking on your feet under a table can be distracting!

Cimorene almost drops her pen in surprise, but manages to peer under the table with a very small amount of dignity intact.
There's a fox under the table. That's new.
"Er...hello," she says tentatively, because she's not sure if this is a talking fox or not. One can never be too certain.
