Calm but wary American college student, also in the bar. She looks up from the chart she was reading.
"...are you all right?" stupid question, he's obviously not. Points for altruism?

"Aside from being somewhere distinctly irrelevant to what I was trying to get done today, I'm quite fine," says the Brigadier. "This place's habits are beginning to try my patience."

"Habits? How often does it--" she shakes her head. "Too often, anyway.
If the Landlord ever shows up, I suspect quite a few people are going to have some choice words for him, or her. Or it."

"More times than I care to count over the course of the past six months," he says. "Simply being returned without harm or elapsed time scarcely changes the fact that I didn't ask to come here."

He shakes his head and places a lunch order with the Bar.

"Although at the moment I"ve no choice but to wait for a while. The door waits a good five or ten minutes after I've entered before responding again, I've found."

Elizabeth's gotten further in the translation she's been working on for the past several days, and doesn't notice the Brigadier immediately when he walks into the bar.

It takes yet another verb conjugation that looks completely unfamiliar to make her look up from her papers and see Alistair, giving him a smile and a wave.

Well, there are certain compensations for being snatched away...

"Hello, Elizabeth." He smiles and diverts course to her table.

"Hi, Alistair," she returns, organizing her papers into one pile on her table. "I haven't seen you around here in awhile. Suppose UNIT's been keeping you pretty busy?"

"Never a dull moment," he agrees. Gesturing to a chair he adds, "May I?"
