He's still not really comfortable with the Bar after all that's happened, but there are people about that Whistler needs to talk to. So he's in the Bar again, and he's ordered dinner for himself. Suzi, he figures, will find him on her own.

Oh, and he asked the rats to bring the food from the kitchen, not the Bar.

Xas has not quite been on the lookout for a tall, dark-haired blind man with a cane, but he was intrigued by Suzi's description of him.

And so, when he does catch sight of such a person, Xas picks up his newly refilled wineglass from the bar and approaches.

He does not bother to make his footsteps quiet.

"You wouldn't happen to be Whistler, would you?"

Whistler tilts his head, blinking. After a moment he says, "I don't know you. Yes, I'm Whistler. What can I help you with?"

"No, you don't. I'm Xas."

He smiles faintly.

"Suzi spoke highly of you, and I was curious."

"I don't think she's told me that name yet," says Whistler thoughtfully. "Curious how? I mean, what did she tell you?"

He's right, you know. Eventually she finds him, and the jingle of her anklet is the majority of her greeting before she settles in to his left and takes his hand with, "Hi, Whistler. What are you eating tonight?"

"Some kind of salmon and wild rice thing," says Whistler after a few moments' thought. "And peas. I didn't want anything too heavy. How're you doing?"

He squeezes her hand by way of greeting, and smiles.

"I'm doing good." She assures him, and with a faint laugh, "Bill? Gave me a basket of chocolate? I put it on, um, on the top shelf of the closet? In our room, not in my office, so that Joy couldn't get it?" She totally stood on a chair.

She's smiling, too, as she squeezes his hand in return.

"Good for you," says Whistler approvingly. "We'll break some of that out for New Year's Eve. Sound fair?"

Whistler might hear Angel coming today, but it won't be as distinctive as the chunky heels. He's going casual today, so to speak.
"Hey. You and Suzi doing all right?"

"So far," says Whistler, smiling a little. "I won't say I won't be relieved to go home, but for now we're okay. Hi, Angel. How're you?"

"Going home myself, in a couple days. It takes some finagling, what with the dead thing, but I have the means and I haven't been back since I got here, so I figure I'm due. And the look on Mark's face when I show up ought to be good."

"You know," says Whistler, "I almost wish I could ask you to videotape that for me. If he makes any choking noises..."
