Raven is at a different table today.
His eyes are still wide and black and fathomless, and he still fails to blink.
But his ankles are crossed under the table, toe tapping intermittently.
At least for a little while.

But she's had time to think.
Lots of time
And come to the conclusion that she's not about to let anyone take her brother. Not even Raven.

There is an Ace, taking a seat. She has cookies, and cocoa, and she's ready for battle. He's her brother and she wants him back.

He makes no move to touch them.

As it is, he merely watches Nick set them on the table, unblinking.
They will sit there until the waitrats remove them.

Plus, there's something (deeper older darker) else that makes the hair on the back of her neck stand up.
Doesn't keep her away, though; instead, she pulls up a chair. "Hello there. Haven't seen you in a while."

The rest of him barely moves.
"Mary Anne."

"Raven. How are things with you?"

But she knew that already.

As she reaches the bottom of the stairs, she glances around the room. Her dark-eyed gaze falls on him, and Moiraine hesistates, watching.

Eventually, slowly, he turns his head to look at her.
From a certain angle, it might look almost tilted.
And, of course, he watches her in turn.
