Jack has no idea what day it is in the bar when he walks in; it's just an ordinary spring day outside for him.  Well, almost ordinary ( Read more... )

But first, he has some loose ends to tie up.

"You!"

"You have some explanations to make, pal."

Fortunately, there's an amused smile on his face as Malcolm says that.

Well luckily the change outside of the bar won't be affecting his coming into the bar, as Malcolm deserves a rather lengthy explanation.

"Hey, Malcolm," Jack says, his smile turning a little sheepish as he remembers when he last spoke to his friend. Oh boy, this'll be fun. "Yeah, I think I do. Where do you want me to start?"

"Well, did you ever get the spanking you were asking for?"

It's possible Malcolm may have heard what was going on. Which might account for the smirk. But that doesn't mean he's going to make this any easier.

Damn shrinks.

"Hey, I'm not explaining my sex life to you," he says with a wry smile before sobering up. "But...yeah, someone slipped me something that kind of made me say a few things I didn't mean to."

And along with the pie should be a note, written in a familiar hand.

Jack --

Met someone in the bar who was asking about Nina. Apparently, she's been calling herself "Bridget Gallagher" and telling people she's coming here after her death in a car accident.

Couldn't get much more info out of him.

It takes him a moment to see the note, because hey, yay, pie! Eventually he does, though, and recognising Ryan's handwriting, picks it up and reads it eagerly.

He's not quite so eager when he finishes it, though. If she was saying she'd died in a car accident, it's possible that she's here after her death, and he's not sure whether that should be encouraging or not.

Suddenly, even the pie doesn't seem quite so good.
