There is clinking, and when he lifts up the napkin, he points the glass towards the blue-skinned man to show the coins sitting in the bottom of the glass.

He's getting the bubbly feeling that comes with a sucessful performance in front of people who aren't children. He smiles widely.

He takes the gold coin and flicks it across his knuckles, then as the coin flips between his ring finger and his pinky, he turns his hand over and it's the silver coin that he flicks across the underside of his fingers. He turns his hand again, and the gold coin flips across his knuckles.

He lifts a hand with a cigarette burning between two hands, and grins, showing slightly big teeth and two deep dimples and the lazy Wyoming drawl is sort of the verbal equivalent of his slouch. Using the cigarette like an extra finger, he points at the coin still appearing and disappearing across the other fella's knuckles. "Where'd you pick that up?"

It's an awkward question, because of the answer. Shadow hesitates, and then decides that he might as well be honest, because lying's never really gotten him that far. 'In prison.' He says, shortly.

Shadow adjusts the napkin a bit, then opens it to show the kid the coin, still in the middle. He folds the coin into the napkin again and begins twisting the bottom of it. He holds one corner of the napkin, and lets it fall open. The coin, surprisingly, doesn't fall to the floor.
Then he reaches over, and pulls the gold coin out of seemingly empty air. He shows it to the kid and grins.

"I've never had the time to figure it all out."

'I had a couple of years.' Shadow says, looking at the coins in his hand and remembering when they would have been blank discs of dull metal. 'I was in prison.'
