Ash and tact are not very well acquainted.

He focuses on Ash.

He glares. Full on Wicked Mom of the West.

"It had occured to me somewhere between her birth and this morning, yes."

"Okay, you don't have to get touchy about it. She's pretty cute."

Being a dad himself has made him notice these things. And, well, she is.
