There are some serious downsides to being a Shinigami: shitty duty, terrible hours, no reward at all. The upside? You're strong, you're durable, and HELL, you are fast. In this case, the speed comes in handy. He can't lunge like...well, like the crack!snake, but he's certainly fast enough to grab it out of the air. His hand just behind its head (he's not THAT stupid), he eyes it with serious surprise. He didn't expect it to attack unprovoked.
He orders a glass jar from Bar and drops it in, glad the lid (which he screws on promptly) has some tiny air holes. Because, really, it needs a time out. And he doesn't like killing things that aren't crazy evil spirits trying to eat him.
