Day and night have started to blur together for Ichigo. It happens, he supposes, when all your time is spent indoors, underground, away from the sun and the moon and people. People that don't spend their days beating you up, anyways. He misses those kinds of people sometimes, but it's worth it. Besides, he has this place for that ( Read more... )

Well. The snake doesn't want to beat him up per se... It just wants him to get bitten. Maybe die. But just a little!

Small green snake, wrapped carefully around the rungs of a bar stool. It stares at him.

Deciding against ordering something, he turns and starts to glance around the bar, slow, lazy, gaze wandering this way and that and then, catching sight of a tiny flicker of green, his eyes find the snake.

He doesn't start or jump or squeak. He just sits there, looking at it with a slightly confused expression.

Since when are there snakes in the bar?

Snakes on crack in the bar.

The perfect prey is one that doesn't move. The snake uncoils a bit, and lunges at Ichigo.

...oh my. Well then. Not very kind at all, are they? Normally crack makes for such kind, understanding animals. Right, well, back to Ichigo now.

There are some serious downsides to being a Shinigami: shitty duty, terrible hours, no reward at all. The upside? You're strong, you're durable, and HELL, you are fast. In this case, the speed comes in handy. He can't lunge like...well, like the crack!snake, but he's certainly fast enough to grab it out of the air. His hand just behind its head (he's not THAT stupid), he eyes it with serious surprise. He didn't expect it to attack unprovoked.

He orders a glass jar from Bar and drops it in, glad the lid (which he screws on promptly) has some tiny air holes. Because, really, it needs a time out. And he doesn't like killing things that aren't crazy evil spirits trying to eat him.
