So, Zuko had this little werewolf problem. It got bigger over the weekend, but now that the moon has passed, the prince now seems to be alright. After all, he had a reasonably good time over the weekend, even if it was mostly furry, and adjusted well enough to the state. It wasn't like the last time ( Read more... )

Someone puts a hand very carefully on his shoulder. It's a hello.

Zuko doesn't startle; he heard the hammers in his footsteps, smelt the coke and smelt. "Hello," he says, looking up. "How have you been?"

He smiles.

"Very well."

He hobbles around and settles at the other side of the booth.

"Think she'll like the bird."

"How is she?" he asks. "The bird, I mean." Asking the other would be silly, afetr all.

Well, it's not going to bump into him, but there is a fiend in the rafters above his head. Eating the rafters, may be more accurate.

He's probably noticed this, by the time the sawdust begins falling all around him.

When he starts getting shavings in his hear, Zuko looks up, blinking. "T... the hell is that?"

He's pretty sure the Bar doesn't want to be gnawed-- or want her rafters gnawed, for that matter.

Don't worry, it won't get far through the rafters. Not now that you've distracted it.

Good job, stupid!

It darts around in a quick circle, eying Zuko and his table, then drops suddenly, to land right in the center of it.

It's relatively small, and fluffy. Innocuous, if you ignore the fact that it was attempting to eat the bar.

Taking up the utinsils frmo his empty plate-- he'd eaten just a little while ago -- Zuko prods the creature with his spoon. "Bugger off, you little blight. I'm busy."

He's careful not to bump into him. He just stands, eventually, because if he gets this out of the way, he can just forget about him and Steph for good. Or at least try. This is the last little thing. So he has his reasons, good reasons, good enough for him to be standing in front of the other boy's table eventually with a very empty, almost grim expression. Like he doesn't know him, like he hasn't had any sort of history with him.

Now if only he could figure out how to say what he's come to say.

Zuko doesn't look up from his work.

"Whatever you've got to say, spit it out. You're in my light."

Ah yes, there it is. Perhaps coaxed out by the sound of Zuko's oh-so-annoying voice, the words come to him then and there.

"Just letting you know that you can stop worrying about me killing your girlfriend." Not his friend anymore. Just this guy's girlfriend. "Hollow's gone now, not that you'll believe me, and not that I give a shit what you believe anyways. Me and your girlfriend decided it was best we stop being friends from now on despite that. Just saying so I can be done with the whole mess. You, her, all of that. So you don't need to care anymore, and we can go back to not knowing each other."

Better that way, maybe?

Zuko looks up at Ichigo, his eyes narrowing. "You're just a peice of work, aren't you? You lied! Time and again! And then you expected to just---be forgiven, welcomed with open arms? Are you that stupid?"

He gestures with one hand, and then says, "And now you stand, makign this childish display of bowing out? Like you chose this? Please-- you're not a man or a monster; you're a squalling infant. Come back when you've grown up, and maybe I'll give half a damn about anything you've got to say."

There's no bumping, but there is watching.
Lots and lots of watching.

Eventually, Zuko gets that creepy feeilng of being stared at. He hates that feeling.

Eventually, he looks up.

And stares at a Loompa.

"What?"

He smiles back.
The smile goes, quite literally, from ear to ear.

Also, his arm is draped over his head.
Quite the sight, this guy.
