Armageddeon: Day Six

Aug 23, 2006 19:49

It's day six.

Halfway to oblivion.

The clock stands a little bit past the 5 when the appointed time arrives, so five chimes sound dimly throughout the area.

The quake is apparent even to those outside in open space now. Speaking of outside, those near the greenhouse will notice the sound of shattered pots and broken glass as a few of the older panels are shaken loose to shatter on the inside floor.

Inside, though, is where the effects are keenly seen. Though the bottles behind the bar are thankfully secured after last night's fiasco, picture frames bang against the wall, cracking the glass on a few. In the rooms upstairs, a handful of mirrors are shaken so badly that they, too, break (seven years bad juju a piece, doncha know).

Dishes crash, chairs are overturned, tables rattle into each other across the floor in a veritable demolition derby of furniture.

When the quake ends a few moments later, no serious damage has been done beyond the superficial.

But, as has been noted, it's only day six.
