"That is unusual, isn't it?" said his da.

"Yes, unfortunately," answered Bran. "Would you like to come along with me tonight?"

Therefore, Owen and Bran Davies are sitting together at a side table with a pot of tea.

Cywyllog has not seen Bran in some time, but she doesn't wish to disturb him while he has company. So, as she catches his eye, she merely gives him a small smile and a wave."

Bran smiles and stands to greet her; Owen, catching the cue, stands a moment after him. "Princess Cywyllog, this is Owen Davies, my da who raised me. Da, this is the princess Cywyllog of Gwynedd."

Owen favors her with an awkward bow.

"Oh." She says softly, smile faltering just a little because she's just not quite sure how to react to that.

"It is very nice to meet you, Owen."

"I am honoured, madam," Owen says. The princess looks lost. Owen might be intimidated by confident women like Lilly Kane or Cordelia Vorkosigan, but he can smile gently at a shy lady like this one.

Bran says, "I have not seen you in a long time. How have you been?"

Trina is, for once, dressed in something that most likely won't make Owen blush.

"Hey, Corey."

Owen looks back and forth from Bran to the strange girl.

Bran, taking pity on him, says, "Da, this is Trina Echolls. I do not know why she calls me Corey. Trina, this is my da, Owen Davies."

"Because I'm notoriously bad with names," Trina offers, which is true generally if not in this case.

She offers Owen her hand.

"It's nice to meet you, Mr. Davies."

Owen shakes firmly, but without meeting Trina's eyes. "Pleased to meet you." With clumsy courtesy, "I am sure Bran is not an easy name to say if you are not used to it."
