Angela is watching the door. She sometimes focuses on her plate, but for the most part, she's watching the door. She'd seen Behrooz come back and stayed out of the way as Lyrae healed him.

She knew he was okay.

But she didn't know about her dad, or Chris, or her grampa, or Tony...

Underneath the haze of worry, Angela is very, very, very tired.

"Angie? Are you all right?" She didn't look it and from the way she kept glancing towards the wall, he assumed she was watching the door.

Then rememebering that Angela is waiting for both her father and grandfather to come back, Ryan's expression softens. "Kim hasn't returned yet, has she?"

Angela shakes her head. "No. But I did get to...dream about her."

That's got to sound strange, but... "We talked."

Blink. "In...your dream?"

It's not that weird, this is Milliways after all but still.

[angela_edmunds]

"Yeah. Apparently, Mom left behind this ring that can draw you into dreams with another person, and I fell asleep looking at it the other night. So we got to meet and talk in my dream."

Yes, it's tremendously simplified in her explanation, but the salient points are there.

"I'm not sure when your father or grandfather will be back," (If they'll be back) "but you're free to stay with Elaine and I till they return."

[angela_edmunds]

Angela nods. "I'll keep that in mind if I need to," she says softly. "Thanks, Mr. Chappelle. I'm...I'm sure they'll be okay."

Not really, but she wants it to be true.

"They've been through worse." That was true and he could almost find comfort in that but he knows the luck will run out someday.

"I should go tell Elaine," he says with a nod of his head as if reaffirming this to himself. "Take care."

[angela_edmunds]

"Okay. Good night," she says, reaching over to give his hand a squeeze before releasing him.

He gives a slight smile at this. "Good night."

Turning, he heads back to his flat to tell Elaine, knowing he'll return later on to watch the door till Chris returns.
