Someone he may think himself familiar with is sitting nearby with a cup of tea and a small plate of steamed vegetables in front of her, looking quite content. She has, of course, seen him and idly noted his color, and dryly wondered if they too were related.

Max doesn't even know all of his relatives anymore, and he's not sure if this is the fault of Trillian's romantic tendencies, Nita's tendency to be adopted by people, or the fact that he's actually planning on eventually having his own kids.

"Take it your head's better," he says by way of greeting.

A gentle, if curious reply in her heavily-accented speech. This was possibly a case of confusion, but it was best not to leap to conclusions.

"Excuse me, my lord?"

... Max's coffee? On the floor.

"You talked!"

Why this is exciting probably makes no sense whatsoever to anyone. Most people can talk.

Michael couldn't find him in the palace, and he has a nagging sense of not right. So he followed him to the bar.

"Max?"

"Michael."

It's an observation, a greeting, and a 'yes I've talked to her and I know what's wrong' all at once.

Michael has not yet talked to her, the mun decides arbitrarily. So.

"What happened?"

[antarianmax]

"Friends of Faith's were taken. Captured. The girl, the younger one, had some sort of ..." Max falters, and simply sends images of the White Room Michael's way.

"Similar encounter. With the similar after-chase. And they got caught."
