There is a Richard crouching next to the puppy and ruffling his ears.

"Hullo, Nick. How are you?"

Dante loves it and flops on his belly.

"I'm doing all right. Yourself?"

Richard pets him and sits down next to Nick.

"I'm doing well."

He smiles as he says it.

"I really am."

He smiles back, though his smile is a little more sad than content.

"I'm glad for you."

"Nicky!"

Charlie inyer lap and a big affectionate kiss to his cheek.

The puppy's rather surprised but Nick just smiles and wraps an arm around Charlie.

"Hello. Good to see you as well."

He keeps scritching too. Best not to hurt the pup's feelings.

Charlie scritches Dante too. It would never do for him to feel neglected.

"I have news." He bounces on Nick's knee.

He raises an eyebrow.

"I'm assuming it's good, but I'm only a detective."

A small smile.

A puppy?

This cat must investigate. So he's stalking over, lashing his tail from side to side.

And the puppy is happily oblivious before the cat gets close... but Dante's experienced enough with Sidney and Janette not to fear cats.

So Orion gives up the charade, wandering over and mewing happily in the puppy's direction.

He squirms out of Nick's hold and wanders over to sniff.

"NICK!" Mina shouts as she spots her mentor. With undisguised glee, she runs over towards him.

He smiles and holds an arm open for her.

"Mina. I've missed you."

[ms_w_harker]

She slips into his arm and hugs him with both of hers. "I've missed you, too! How have you been? What's been going on in your life?"

Don't let the icon fool you. She's grinning from ear to ear.

He shakes his head and chuckles.

"I've been... home. Living. Dead. A few things in between. Working... mostly."

He taps the near forgotten folder on the table.

"And you?"
